Wedding Cake of the Day: Ruffle Wedding Cakes

Layer your wedding cake in fondant ruffles and frills

Ruffles are a fashion favorite that have found their way into the wedding cake world this year. Not only are the design possibilities for these elegant embellishments varied (as you can cover an entire cake, a single tier, or a small portion of the cake) but you can also create rosette (ruffle) embellishments to top your cake.

The Elements of a Fall Wedding

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of ideas you can incorporate for fall nuptial. From the reception, to the decoration, to bridesmaid dresses, flavors, invitations, and wedding photo albums, you need to make sure every bit and piece of your wedding reflects the elements of fall.

  1.  Warm, dry, rustic. These three words best describe the fall season. Fall is one of the most popular seasons for weddings. Gorgeous natural foliage in colors red, orange, and yellow and the temperate weather condition make for great and romantic fall weddings. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of ideas you can incorporate for fall nuptial. From the reception, to the decoration, to bridesmaid dresses, flavors, invitations, and wedding photo albums, you need to make sure every bit and piece of your wedding reflects the elements of fall.
  2. Bring the Garden Fantasy Out
What could be more wonderful than saying “I do” on an altar with arching pear branches adorned with gold silk leaves, asters, calla lilies, chocolate cosmos, dahlias, and sunflowers. Fall is a season that exudes the unique beauty of nature, so benefit from this feature and bring the garden fantasy out on your fall wedding day. The season also gives you the freedom to be creative with your wedding bouquet. Incorporating unexpected plants like wheat, crab apples, and ornamental vegetables in your bouquet can make the fall idea come alive.
    Fruits and Vegetables
Bring the natural elements of the fall season into your reception and ceremony. Use fruits and vegetables such as pumpkins and squashes in deep colors for centerpieces. You can also hollow them out; create holes in their surface, and light candles inside. Then, you can line them up to the aisle. Use other fruits that complement an autumn color scheme as well. Fruits such as rich yellow or red apples, nuts in shells, or colored bell peppers, strengthen the theme more. For extra texture and color, combine fruits or vegetables with fall leaves and with intricately tied ribbons.
    Rich Texture
Colors that exude a natural feeling such as lighter tones of brown, deep red, yellow, dark green, and light orange work well with a  fall  wedding design. Incorporating textured materials can also make the theme of the wedding come alive. Look for ways to use burlap, linen, rough twine, weathered wood, and aged paper to your weddings essentials. Use the fall theme in your photo albums and invitations as well. Your photo book and invitations can incorporate an autumnal icon, such as a maple leaf or pinecone, or delicate fabrics and paper-thin wood veneers. Wedding album design services offer wedding photo book designs that reflect the elements and hues of a romantic fall wedding.
Whether you’re preparing for a winter, spring, summer, or fall wedding, you need to make sure you pay close attention to each season’s design and element. The idea is to make your marriage last through every season, so make the event as cohesive and as memorable as possible.
